Dont pass on a lower year, if you get a DEAL....... Nothing wrong with 08 down. My opinion is a good low mileage 06. Good year and last year of the 88 and 5 speed....
Great bike year..... Hdman

You gotta go newer then the 06. You would have to invest to much money in the the engine and tranny just to keep up with the newer bikes. I had a 06 FatBoy with a supped up 95 kit and a 5 speed and struggled to hang with the 96 and surely the 103's and their 6 speeds.

You may not want to overlook an '08 at a good price. Of course they had the 96'' engine and 6-spd. tranny by then, but that's the year they went to the 6 gal. fuel tank, throttle-by-wire, Brembo brakes and Isolated Drive System. Anti-lock brakes were also offered as an option in '08. So you can see that the '08's were certainly quite a nice machine.

For more information on any motorcycle you can go to the following website: totalmotorcycle.com

Good luck in your hunt.

There was actually a frame change in 08, albeit minor, then totally changed again in 09. Nowt wrong with an 08.

'09 models got the newly redesigned frame. The 6 gallon fuel take made its appearance on the '08 touring line along with TBW, IDS, Brembo brakes, and the ABS option.
