Really liking my denim black FLHT. Easy to maintain using windex for quick cleaning and dish soap/warm water for washing. Being black it does show dust/bugs but not nearly as bad as vivid black. I don't have any rub marks around my tank after 2 years...

Just curious, could they be wet sanded with 2000 grit paper or 0000 steel wool to get rid of minor scratches in the matted clear?
I just use a microfiber cloth and some Stoners glass cleaner or Detailing spray. I like the glass cleaner alot better though. I was getting small scratches on my tank from the zippers on my jacket. They wiped right off with a small spray and a quick buff. I just took some black gorilla tape and taped my zippers.

I really don't care for denim finishes. Way too "trendy" & "unfinished" looking; blacked out is definitely played out.Well, I don't mind blacked like in a NightTrain, but the tins gotta be gloss. Love a nice gloss finish;just looks great when it's polished. And I love to detail my ride almost as much as riding it.

I hear ya brother. But I ride my bike back and forth to work and on the weekends. I have two kids 10mos and a 4 year old. When the wife gives me the green light to go ride, I don't want to be out in the garage for an hour before I ride or even after I ride with the slightest chance of getting recalled to assist with an meltdown or the like. She says go, the bike is cranked up no more than 20 seconds later....

I don't think the denim is a very "durable" finish. Not only is it less forgiving when it comes to scratches and scuffs but I'll bet it's more prone to fading too. If you plan on keeping your bike for a while, black denim might not be the best choice. JMO

No more prone to scratching that gloss in my experience. I am in the "less polish, more riding" crowd myself. I laugh at the parking lots full of people polishing every morning when I leave a hotel. Sure, clean and polish it before the trip but a full detail and polish every morning? Not for me.

As far as looks, I am a bit prejudiced because Black Denim is why I have a Harley. I saw the Denim Black Fat Bob and said "Wow!".... but I liked the Road Glide. When the BD Fugly came out it was only a matter of time.

Would do it again in a minute....

To each his own, IMO, black denim just looks too much like primer. There, I said it. To me it looks OK an a Fatboy but never on a bagger.

I love my denim paint. Like many of them said... Windex and a microfiber cloth and you are good as new. Don't get me wrong. I wash it every once in a while with dish washing detergent (as per the recomendation in the owners manual). But considering I ride a good bit with a guy who has a CVO. I am VERY GLAD I have denim paint. He is constantly spending hours on end cleaning. And I take about 20 minutes.
