Hi all. Just got a 2012 street glide a few weeks ago and love it. But getting a weird noise only once in awhile. It almost sounds like lifters n only does it when it's cooler outside and has been sitting so its totally cool. It also only started a few days after I put on the v&h Hines exhaust, powervision,and intake. It only does it for like 2 seconds right after it starts. A little ticking noise. I took it to the dealer and they said it would never do it. Any ideas?

 

Call Jamie at Fuel Moto and tell him your problems. He may have a solution you can program to the ECM via the Power Vision.

 

Exhaust leak?

Hard to diagnose without witnessing in person but I'd look there for starters, especially since you just changed the exhaust.

I have a car with a slight crack in the exhaust manifold that you can hear "ticking" when cold, but quiets completely when warm.

It's possible that you have a similar situation (not necessarily a crack, but some slight leak) where the leak seals itself as the parts heat.

Another cause of the "ticking when cold" symptom is lifter bleed down. Although if this is the case it would probably do it even when warm if it has sat for any period of time.
