...I have one...the button kind of works half-***, it's sticky, I close it but it doesn't really "click" shut all the way, I agree that they are pretty much junk, but, it is easier than pulling keys out at every fuel stop...
I didn't see the point in getting the lockable option. I've never had gas stolen from any vehicle. And if somebody wants to steel gas, I would think a cage with 20 gallon tank would be a better target for them.
The car tanks usually have an anti-siphon feature, so bikes may be the only game in town for a gas thief. I have the dual-function type (button and lock) and I haven't had any trouble with it in >4 years. OTOH I don't think I've locked it once since installing, so if I had to do it again I would go with the pushbutton-only type, as IMO they look better and IIRC are a bit cheaper.
Way better than having to get your key out to fill up! Just wish the button/latch was a better fit. Mine has a high-pitched rattle/vibration that I can't seem to get rid of. Anybody find a fix for this?
I have the locking one on my bike for the last two years without any problems. I always put a drop of oil on the mechanism every time I wash the bike. I hear if you don't, they stick. As far as security.... any Harley key will open the stock and or the upgraded gas cap, they are not keyed to the other locks.

Reason: spelling
I have the push button that doesent lock, I like it. Hated taking out the key every time I put gas. I too oil the latch every so often. This is a must have for the gas door.
Has anyone installed the push button fuel cap, I hate having to use my key everytime i fill up, Does it work pretty well, or a waste. Thanks Danny.
I've got a real bad deal then, on my 1999 Road Glide I have to use the key to turn the ignition on every time I start the bike as well as unlock the fuel cap every 200 miles.lol
