I think most the the responses will be a local credit union. Seems they have the best rates.
+1
My CU actually has a different rate list for Harleys versus all other bikes. Only about 1/4 of a % lower, but still.
If you have USAA, try them as well. For my car loan and last Sporty, they not only gave good rates, but a 1/2 % discount when I set up automatic payments for the loan.
Though if a dealership can check multiple sources, you never know.
My wife thought she'd be going through our CU for her Fatboy, but the dealership managed to find a place that beat our CU by 0.1%
That's not much, but these days every dollar helps.
I just got 4.74% for 36 or 48 months with automatic payments through my credit union on a used bike (although its the same for new as well). This was through my local credit union (of which I was not a member until I saw their rate and joined).
These days its easy to window shop online, I check several local banks and CU's all of which had their rates posted on their sites.
At a minimum you now know you should be looking for a 4-5% rate assuming your credit is half decent, anything higher and you should be looking elsewhere for financing.
