Default Electrical

I have been looking for electrical specifications in the service manual for my FLHRC.

I am interested in where I can read what the alternator output is and what the stock bike uses so I can determine what the available amperage is for accessories.

Anyone have any info on this?

You should have an output of 35-50 Amps, but output should exceed your draw by 3.5 Amps. Get a load tester, disconnect your voltage regulator, turn all the accessories ya have on (brights on ) put your load tester on the battery negative and run bike at 3000 rpm....do the same with the positive.

Information you are looking for is in the Electrical Diagnostic Manual. Only have the manual for 2005. 38 amps is low side 45 amps is high side. Your output may be higher on 2011.

The 2010 Electrical Diagnostic Manual states regulator output = (in Amps @ 3000RPM) 35-50 Amps...

I would think the 2011 specs are similar...
