Thanks for the info. I'm going to repaint the RG to a satin black but I don't want to leave the tank naked. I think this tank decal would really set off the retro blacked out look I am going for.
Since I replied earlier I vaguely recall that design may be a screen print, not a decal, but it is worth following through.

I went to the dealer and looked threw the softtail parts book when I did my paint. I wanted the deuce emblem. It was a screen print. I copied the page from the book and took it to my painter. He then made a stencil of it and airbrushed it onto the tank before Clear coating. You can go the same route. It is from a 2012 883 Iron not 2009. Grab the 2012 sportser book and copy the page if there is no part number listed.

Check availability with the dealer, one time I wanted a sporty decal and they called the factory which said send in the wrecked tank and they will send out a new one. They wouldnt sell just the decal, this is only for certain limited or quarterly paint schemes. As someone said take a pic to a painter and he will copy it.
JMHO if you are having the tank painted you might as well have it airbrushed on. Take a copy of the photo to the painter. You might be able to find a printer that has a plotter to make the stencils.
That is a tank decal. I have two Gold "Harley-Davidson" Letters with a Black Border. The decal number for the black & gold decal is # 14001-82. They have other color combinations. Each combination will have a different part number. The decal is now Obsolete / discontinued.
If your in good with your Harley dealer, they can look up other dealers in the U.S.A. that might still have them in stock and give you a list.
Here's links to a website that might be able to help you.
Thanks for the ideas and help. I searched all over the net thinking it was a older tank. I didn't even think to check the 2012's. If it is a silk screen and not a decal I am going to find a clear picture and take it to the painter and see what he can do. Thanks for your help
