Glad you mentioned taking the wheels off the bike to clean them. I was wondering about that. Have not had them off yet but I'm sure it's not to difficult. I'll look over the manual on that.

Thanks! I will say it blows the Never Dull away if your wheels are a little rough. I like the never dull but it seems to work best if your wheels are not to bad and need a little polishing.

Very fine brass wool. Don't use steel wool, it will scratch the aluminum.

I thought the idea with the steel wool was to go from a 0 ot to a 0000 ot to remove the scratching as you go?

I have polished lots of aluminum , and I always went with 600,800,1000 grit wet, then mothers with a cotton buffing wheel in a buffer, the type you would use in a bench grinder, surprisingly they have a pretty good selection of wheels , and compounds at Harbor Freight tools, and you could pick up a cheap buffer there too.

I used to polish sportbike frames on the side and after the sanding i used these items..
You dont need the sandpaper or steel wool.
go to sears and buy the polishing compound sticks.. think theres black, red, white in the kit. Get you a grinder with a sewn polishing wheel. Use the black compound first! This will eliminate all scratches and stains.then go behind it with the red jewelers rouge and for a last buff.. go with mothers billet by hand and your done... its a good bit if work but results will be amazing!! Mirror finish if done right!!

Good suggestion. I used this approach on a set of Corvette aluminum wheels. The results were great.

Can I use a drill with a sewn polishing wheel?

Why scratch it if you don't have to?
