Thanks everyone for your replies. She's an 06 with 22K miles. I run around 5-6K a year seeing we can't ride up here in New England in the winter. Some do, but I'll leave that to the real daredevils. I haven't as of yet gone on a destination ride, but hope to do so next summer. Most miles on any given day was 400.

There have been some good advice here so far. I do enjoy riding with the tunes, so I'll look into the speakers on the handlebar option to see how they look. Not a lot of bug swarms up north here, but I do like having some kind of fairing/windshield as a lot of my driving is on the highway. Maybe a good windshield and the radio will be a cheaper way then the fairing.

I have been going through the selling forum and ebay to find some of these parts. Hopefully I'll stumble across a good deal. Thanks again.

Comfort vs performance? Only you can answer that for yourself.
Me personally, no matter how comfy my bike is or isn't, I'm not happy without baddass performance. But, that is a slippery slope, a new performance mod feels great until you just get used to it, then you need more. Ideally, if the $$$ is available, you do both, but I know that is usually not an option. Good luck and enjoy whatever you decide.

I have always loved the RK but I have a Ultra though if I had a RK the 1st thing I would add would be the Boom Audio Cruiser Amp and Speaker Kit, Windshield-Mounted its 400$ and looks very clean.

That 400$ and a good shield, should leave you enough $$$ for a stage 1 and then some.

Just my thoughts.

My Mrs. has the Boom system on her Deluxe and it's great. It's handle bar mounted and chrome and looks like it belongs there. The sound is great too!

Do both.. You will anyway, no point in debating it or having us try to sell you one way or the other.
You've stepped into the realm of Harley nutz!!
