I had my mind set on putting the BT 7.1 in the fairing and Polk mm651 in my lowers. I'm considering just using 4 mm651 since they are 2.7 ohms. I'm using 2 pbr300x2 amps and figured I'd get better performance running at 2 ohms. What do you think?
If I were in your shoes, I'd go for the PBR300X2 driving the BT7.1s in the fairing. I opted not to install speakers in the lowers on my '08 CVO Ultra. I put the Polk MM651s in my fairing, and I upgraded the speakers in my rear pods to the new J&M 5.25s though. Pretty happy with my setup for the cost involved, but I think the bigger speakers in the fairing would really rock!
thanks for the thread. I'm considering same set up: B/T 7.1 with RF PBR300x2...glad to hear (no pun intended) it's a good set up...no other mods planned.
Question for all here - the threads are confusing: poly foam wrap the speakers or go with acoustic pads to line fairing? I have no issue with the $30-$40 for the pads for a cleaner install....opinions?
