Default Saddlebag Guard's

I am thinking about installing saddlebag Guards on my 2010 Street Glide.

I know the guards are for tip overs not crashes, so i am just wondering is the front loop the only part that is functional or do the twin rails protect the bag's as well.

Thank you for your help.

They side rails can't hurt in the protection department. I'm thinking of thesame thing for my SG...you know you'll have to cut holes in the filler strips....something to consider.

I have a set of the ones with the side rails (twin rails) that came off my 2010 police bike with just 3400 miles on them. They are in real good condition and I would let them go for 125.00 plus shipping. PM me if you want them.

The front part protects the bags if the bike should fall over, or low speed drop. The rails will keep your bags with the bike should you have a fastener malfunction, which is also a reason why many people use something different than the OEM clips, ex, Brukus saddlebag secure system, you'd be surprised to know how many bikers have lost a bag while going down the road.

I have an eg classic, so with the rails.

they are super functional, a little extra protection, keep the bag from falling on I-80 like I saw on a CVO last year ( they shoulda had $8 is speednut and wing screw hardware from Ace )- if the bag harware comes off, the bag would be held in place by the guards

and an extra place for a bungee cord if you are hauling a bunch of camping gear etc.

I never heard of this Brukus system. Just ordered a set within 5 minutes of reading this post. And yes, there have been a few times that without the bag rails, I would have lost a bag on the road somewhere.

Just order the HD Guard Bag Kit about a $ buck fifty and get rid or your stock SG bag bars or save them.

Then get some stainless allen bolts with tinnerman nuts for your bags and you'll be good to go. No need to have to have a special tool to get your bags off when an allen wrench will do just fine. $Ten Bux.
The Kick shoe from Brukus is kick a$$ though, and definately recommended..

+ 1 on the Brukus Bag mounts and the Seat bolt. A good product that works

Stock street glide only has the lower bag support, installing the guard (loop) is jsut a bolt on and anything that has the side rails yes I will have to drill out the filler pannels.

Sent a pm to 77Tulsa to see what we can work out.

thanks to everyone else.
