WTF??? With a name like Big Sucker the POS should do more than 200CFM!!! I guess Big Sucker is the guy in the mirror who bought the da#m thing. I'm not buying another friggin thing for this bike without running it by you guys first.

Had mine Dynoed by one of the best in the business. He was skeptical of my wimmer but turned out after using three different air cleaner set ups it was as good as any of them. Gotta say he was a man to admit it. Anyway they have a good look and are superior in fit and finish. they come with a variety of different size filters and colors. Its worth a look!

Here are some numbers I've been able to find -

HD stock - 171CFM
Stage 1 Big Sucker - 200CFM
Stage 2 Big Sucker - 250CFM
Kuryakyn Twin Velocity - 270CFM
E-3014 = 248 CFM RK-3009 kit
E-3037 = 301 CFM RK-3910 kit
HD-0800 = 231 CFM SE replacement
Doherty Powerpacc - 287CFM
SE Air Cleaner - 287 CFM
Zippers - 321 CFM
Woods Carbs - 4 models 235CFM upto 340CFM
BC Overflow - 800+CFM

Steve
That's surprising the SE puts out more than the Ness Big Sucker Stage 2 even! I thought the SE and the Ness BS Stage 1 were the same basically (same filter size comparing the BS I had on my Lowrider, and SE on my Glide).

At what point would an air cleaner allow TOO much air though, and require a larger fuel injector? I would think eventually that threshold would be hit; too large of an A/C would make the bike too lean, once the injector hits it's max point for output.
An engine is just an air pump. Unless there is a forced induction (turbo, supercharger) on it, it will only flow X cfm. So if the motor will only flow, lets say for example 400 cfm, then an air filter that flows 800cfm or 400cfm will have the same result.

The motor will only suck what it needs, any excess CFM rating is just that.............excess.

I would rather have a filter that flows 320 cfm on a motor that only needs 250 cfm, then have a filter that flows 200 cfm on a motor that needs 250 cfm.

Hey Steve,

Just curious about those numbers. Wimmers site show these for stock and screamin eagle stage 1,

--------Stock Harley-Davidson® air filter flows 130 CFM at 10”
--------Harley-Davidson® Stage 1 Screaming Eagle™ flows 160 CFM at 10”

You show 40 cfm more for stock and if I read it right 231 for the screamin eagle. Just curious because I am about to buy an air cleaner and some of these numbers have me confused. Iunderstand that wimmermachine might want to pad the numbers a bit to make their A/C look betterbut those are big differences.Could you tell me where you got your numbers. Thanx in advance.

Jeff
