Ridden both types...partial to cable as I like the feel...would take me some time to get used to the TBW..JMO...as Capt Itch has said, you can get home with cable and carb type bikes.

I'd say TBW and cables could be even if the intake air flap of the TBW system could be kept partially open by a simple mechanical means to cope for an emergency situation.
Those who have the experience of bicycle cable grips to set the length of their carburetor cables will remember. If we had a kind of clip to fix the flap from the inside of the a/c we could ride home slowly but safely. This would not take longer than pulling the cable out of its sleeve and attaching it to the carb, assuming there is only one carb, and the emergency ride would be much smoother.
