Default gas tank

We're talkin' FLHTC....will an '08 gas tank, fit an '07 bike, with no further changes (seat, console, fuel sender, etc.)?

The tank will not fit anything but an 08 or up. When they increased the capacity, they made the tank longer and deeper. They had to relocate the upper engine mount from underneath the fuel tank, between the cylinders, to the front cylinder head for clearance of the fuel tank. Hope this helps.

I just posted this on another thread about this subject.

It can be done but with many part changes and welding on the frame. To change the mounting locations for the motor will require removing the motor to cut the old locations and weld the new one in place.

The motor mounting locations were changed along with the location for the coil and a new seat.
The Fuel Tank and seat points mounting points were moved. The seat was changed to make room for the new tank. The seat does not have the same mounting locations. They are not even close.

The 6 gallon tank has made the '08 frame a "One Year" frame.
