Default Throttle cable install

I recently had 10" mini's installed on my dyna. I also had them replace the throttle cables. When i picked the bike up I noticed the throttle cables were not screwed into the throttle cover. they were just kind of hanging there, loosely pushed into the opening. I asked about it and was told this is how all the NEW cables come. I'm wondering if these are the "wrong" cables. Anyway, after riding a bit I noticed one one or two occasions that the throttle would not completely snap shut when i let it go. I noticed yesterday that it seems worse now and while playing around with them I noticed that if i jiggled the cable when it was in the stuck condition it would snap closed.

Ok, I'm new to motorcycle mechanics but not so clueless to know that this isn't normal and this isn't good. gonna take it in early next week but wanted to get some input from you guys so i don't look like an isiot when talking to the tech and get written off.

Anyone advice would be greatly appreciated.

Throttle cables do snap into the housing, they have a wire spring ring on the ends that snap into a groove in the housing, so they are correct in what they told you. If there is some slop in it you can adjust the cables to take some of the slop out and it will be fine.
As far as the sticking, is your throttle lock screwed in any? unscrew it and see if the sticking goes away.

Has he got the right cables on. The part that goes in the grip is different sizes. And they do snap in. Sometimes it's hard to do.

Maybe he striped the hole taking the old ones out.

ok, then i think the wire spring ring might be missing. the cables will actually pull out of the housing and just kind of wobble around in there.

Sounds like he damaged the grooves in the housing or the rings are gone off the cables..you really dont need them, just adjust your cables to pull the slack out, but not tight, if that makes sense? the cables when adjusted will hold themselves up inside the housing.
