1" lowering blocks on 12' RG custom?
The difference is how much room you will have before bottoming out when shock is fully compressed. If the diffenerce is 1" or less than yes you will bottom out! If it's more than 1" you will be fine. Don't just take someones word for it. Good luck!
Excellent post and advice! +++

Yep my bad. The original posters Road Glide Custom comes with 12 inch shocks from factory. But I really feel no difference in ride quality with the blocks. But hey mines an 06, apparently its a death trap wobbly skinny tire outta dater..........
Because the bottom of the shock is moving out the top has to be shimmed out also to keep the shock vertical rather than tipped in at the top.
The shock boot is wider than the shock at the bottom, if you look that is probably where the shock and bag touch.
I removed a shim from the top of the shock and then added 1 to the mounting brackets to be able to tip the bags out, I used 1 washer behind the front and rear bag mounting points (between the mounting point and bike).
My shimming caused the shock to tip in to the bike and the bags out. Again we are only talking about the thickness of 2 washers, you can not even tell I shimmed anything.
I thought about grinding down the face of the lowering block to keep shimming the way I did but I did not want to grind away the powder coating.
I hope this helps.
