Long story short...I took out my CB a few years ago to put in an Arc Audio amp, since it was the only place it would fit (on top of the radio). I'd like to get the CB re-installed, and found a place inside the fairing I can mount it. Unfortunately the harness on the CB is too short to reach the stock HD radio in the off-to-the-side location I've found.
Anybody know of a extension cable I can use to connect the CB harness to the radio, and while I'm asking, a extension able for the antenna cable? I'm looking at needing a extension of a about 1 foot in length for each. I've searched, but my google-fu isn't working so well today. This is for my '08 Ultra. Thanks!
You are looking for something that "probably" does not exist. You will either have to make it yourself or install the CB in the intended place and move the audio amp.
J&M kits mount the CB under the radio. Check their website to see if you can order the mount or make one. The CB radio is pretty lite and it shouldn't take much to mount it.
CtCruzer: understood. Doesn't hurt to throw out the question though, never know what others have found.
vanman59: I'll check out the J&M kits. I can build a mount, place I have picked for it is just a little out of reach for the cables to connect. I could go under the radio I guess, just have to think of a different mounting fabrication.
Couple of options: (1) send an email to Scott Ezzell (ezzell141@comcast.net) and buy his bracket; it attaches to the HK radio and you mount the amp on top, and mount the CB module below the head unit to the bracket--about $45; or, (2) use Velcro or VHB double-sided tape and attach the CB module to the bottom of the HK--I used the VHB for a year or so w/o problems until I purchased Scott's bracket.
