Hey any ideas on how to cut down the windshield on my RKC?Or is it worth doing it..My eyes are right at the top of the thing and its driving me crazy.Any help is appreciated..
Yes...get it done. I had the same problem and had 2" taken off. I get a little more wind buffeting my head but now I'm neither stretching to look over or scooting down to look through the windshield. There has been several threads about this. You can do the search but I'll sum up what others have said: If you're confident enough to do it yourself you'll save about $20. Otherwise take it to a glass shop (that deals with plexiglass) and they'll cut it for you. This is one mod you will appreciate.
There ia a how-to on this forum for cutting your windshield-should be easy to find with a search. Basically it consists of taping the top of your windsheild, drawing a template onto the tape and then cutting with a jigsaw.
You can cut it with a jig saw, band saw or scroll saw. Depending on how smooth the cut is will dpend on how much sanding you will have to do. Start with coarse paper and work you way down to finer grits. Finish with 240 grit wet paper and the finish will be smoother than the original. Make sure you use masking tape to cover both sides to keep you saw surface from scratching the part you will not be cutting off.
Same problem here. Had my windshield taped off and ready to cut per the above link. Couldn't bring myself to cut my flammed windshield. Bought a AirHawk seat cushion instead. Will sit you up 1/2 to 1 in. higher in saddle. Worked perfect for me and the cushion is great.

I ended up doing the same thing. Windshield was right at eye level and I almost cut it. I bought a Mustang Touring seat and it raised me up just enough to where everything is pefect now. If you're thinking about ever changing the seat, keep this in mind.
