Hi Does anyone know why I am having a problem with my Harley interface and using the nano ipod, since Harley installed it I have lost half my volume. When I use the radio or CD it cranks. Before the interface, I used auxillary port and it cranked. I have a tweeter bar and high performance speakers to me with the interface, this should really crank. I have complained to the dealer and they say they have never heard of this problem and that there is nothing wrong.
Ipods have an odd function when connected to their interface ... a volume limit is pre-set to a level below distortion, you have no further volume control at the unit itself.
In my van when I use the ipod transmitter/ power supply, all I get is a signal that actually does distort. I can't turn the ipod up or down when it's being linked using it's data connection. If I plug it into the "aux in" or use a cassette conversion I can crank it without it breaking up.
Hope this gives you some idea of where the issue is.

I had to reset the volume on all the songs in my library to 150%. Also, this is one of those areas where bitrates make a difference. I've had some people on here imply I was full of $hit on this one, that it makes no difference what bitrate you use because you can't hear the difference at 70mph, but I beg to differ. Higher bitrates are better.
