Since you have Zumo 660, we know the NIM will not work as I mentioned in the first reply. It also came with mounts for your car and motorcycle handlebars from thhe factory, do you plan on using the included mount or a different one?
I still suggest the same as my first reply, and here are a couple of pics to show it installed.
I have the zumo 660 but not the RT version. If I use the Harley headset for my 09 Ultra and plug my zumo into the AUX port of the radio with a patch cord then with my cellphone paired to my zumo I will be able to get zumo commands and talk on my cellphone thru the headphones? Am I understanding you correctly?
I'm not sure about the misunderstanding, but you have to install a HDBomm to be able to talk on the phone with the headset and Zumo, which has to use the Aux port to operate.
What I was talking about with the NIM is, the NIM mutes the radio/iPod and sends the commands over the radio/iPod signal (leaving the Aux port open for other uses) but the NIM only does this with the RT Zumo version, it will not work with the regular Zumo 660, because it has a different firmware.
Since the OP has the regular 660, he has no reason to purchase the NIM, since he will need to use the Aux port if he needs to hear the commands.
I have a 660. Use the mounting bracket that came with it to mount to the left. Removed the two stock screws, used the supplied screws and mounted it up. Wish I had bought the 665. Anyone want to buy a 660??

Did you buy everything from the dealer that the bike is at, and what mount are you going to use?
If the first answer is yes, then I would ask them to install it, and since it's already apart, I would think they would do it cheap, like $25 or so. If not then I would do it myself, it's not difficult.
No in fact I got it from EBay for $450 with both the faring mount and a perch mount, However the perch mount was black so I bought a Chrome one.
I will use the perch mount on the Clutch side as I have a 3 bag pouch and don't want to lose that third pouch ( I keep my candies in it )
My Dealer rolled there eyes when I said I got it from EBay as they have had tough times installing stuff from eBay when parts are missing.
So I have it at home now and after riding both Sat and Sun in the very cold air I realized I also need to change the handlebars to get back in the seat more.
So over the winter I will do that and install the Zumo myself.
