How about giving me a good deal on your 254's? I am looking to go that route. 204 and 211's are noted for giving that wicked idle sound. One reason carbs can sometimes have that lope is they can set the idle down to 800 rpms or so. Some say it is bad to do it but I have a buddy that has had his carbed t/c set at 800rpm or so and well over 50,000 miles with no issues.

My 255's sounds real good when the engine is hot and the idle drops below 1000 RPM.

I don't know about setting idle much below 900 on a TC.....the oil pump isn't putting out enough pressure to keep the top end lubed like it should.

211's have a nice lope

255s sound a lot like a stock cam.

any cam in a Harley motor will sound better with a lower idle, even the stock cams.

I don't know.....my bike lopes with the 255's...the stockers were lame. The torque I gained through them was well worth it.
