Anyone here using the below ebay leather mid frame heat deflectors? I'm on the fence about getting deflectors and at $33/shipped for plain ones I could be persuaded. Wondering about quality and fit? Just basically cut/fitted leather pieces? Thinking plain black leather would look ok with my denim black paint. Thanks for any info ... http://www.ebay.com/itm/320670026252...WAX:IT&vxp=mtr
i see you have a 09 did you see this in the add--- They are Black Leather Cow Hide which does not conduct heat and fit Harley Davidson Touring bikes 1997 to 2007. they might not fit. i have the cap itch and although they cost more they are well built and do the job. just sayin.
I saw them beofre and made my own for a super glide. Thinking about making them for my Electra Glide. Putting a police air ride seat on it soon and waiting to see how that works out with the plastic pan. May replace it with leather and just adjust to have heat shields. I used 9-10 ounce leather for mine and it worked great.
i second the A+ on the captain itch crotch coolers .. ya they are pricy compared to the ones you posted on ebay .. and most will say i am SuPER CHEAP eeeeeerrr i mean Thrifty but the cpt itch crotch cooler is a super heavy very well made product . after seeing them first hand i coughed up the extra dough and bought one with the basket weave embosed to match my road king seat and bags .. it works really good and looks great.
I posted the incorrect link. They are available for 09-newer frames. I did consider the ones made by another forum member that are on sale now for around $90 but like I said, on the fence so $90+ not in my plans as of yet. http://www.ebay.com/itm/320670026252...WAX:IT&vxp=mtr
I've been covering the stock shields for the locals for $20.00 a piece for awhile, provides an an alternative to the plain plastic if you already have them. Lots of combinations to, color, studs so on, not advertising just just showing off !!
I ordered the RJ's and am tickled. They fit and look good. I believe he still has a sale going on. Check their link on here or http://www.rjsoriginals.bizland.com Believe to get the special pricing you have to call in. Great folks to deal with..
I would ask some question's from this guy on Ebay. They look like it's single layer of leather. Ask about the backing. I have a set I bought from Captain Itch a forum sponsor. His is double layered glued and stitched with a soft backing that won't scratch your side cover's. Quality product in deed! I don't have them on in the picture in my signature, but here's a pic of them on my wife's 2012 Triglide. Her's has the barbed wire stitching around the edge's. She hasn't mentioned heat from the catalytic converter since putting the Crotch Cooler on.

I agree. That's what I was wondering when I asked my initial question(s). He has sold dozens of them but apparently not to any forum members ??
