Anyone on here have the Spun Aluminum gauges in their batwing?
I am considering getting a painted inner fairing this winter and I like the looks of those gauges. I would swap the air temp for an oil temp gauge also.
My concern is do you get glare off the gauges? And if someone has them, could you post up a good pic of them so I can see what they actually look like installed?
I agree they look good, but if your like me ya do it then smething comes along ya like better.Check out the thread on here Red Sled parts review He got some nice lookin gauges for about what you'd pay for the HD ones its about 3 to 4 pgs. in, they were called Medallion Instruments Bagger Gauges He had a pic of them.
The outer ring can be black and since I'm painting my inner fairing this winter and I think they would look awesome on my ride. VERY pricey for just the ring and the faceplate. But apparently you send them the gauges and they do all the work and send them back all perddied up!
Spun aluminum gauges look great - I've had em for about 4 years now. No more glare then anything else. I also swapped the air temp for the oil temp.
A couple issues though:
They've been around since 05 - 06 on the CVO's - so they're not all that rare.
The small gauges are hard to see at night (not optimal lighting).
You will have to be mindful of the speedo gauge compatibility (correct year) if buying used. Also if used the mileage must be reset by an independent somewhere, since HD only adjusts when bought through them.
Other then that - they should be found relatively cheap used. Around $600 new.
BTW - they really make the painted inner pop!

Wife bought these for me as a Christmas present 2 years ago. She worked with Bill Sparks (Internet sales manager at Lakeshore HD). He walked her through the whole process including checking the current miles on my bike, getting the new OD set, etc. PLus 20% of MSRP and free shipping. Sold my old guages on ebay for $200.
I also recently found a Spun AL radio trim piece that I just added a couple of weeks ago.

Glare..... I went to black faced gauges hoping to get rid of the glare...... didn't work. The glare comes from the glass not the face of the gauge. But the black gauges do show the idiot lights and 6th gear better.
