Default help make an offer

I have a chance to buy a 90 electra glide. 100000 + miles (engine rebuilt) Clean, no dings, no leaks etc. hard bags, tour pack. Real good condition. What would be a fair offer? What else should I be concerned with?

I would guess $5000 would be a respectable offer.

That's a 16 year old bike, with a lot of miles on it.

I have gone through/rebuilt a couple of bagger insurance bikes and you could piece it out and get about 6000.00 in ebay sells easily. When you start looking for that older fiberglass it is few and far between. Go to www.wreckedharleybikes.com and they are selling a 1990FLHT wreck/all fiberglass destroyed from the picture with a certificate of distruction title for 3900.00 so I think 7K to 9k depending on cosmetics would be a good buy. Just my .02$

A friend of mine just sold a 92 model, 97,000 miles for $6500.00. And was happy to get it. The bike was in good condition, and had a clear title, but thats a bunch of miles.

[color=#0033CC]$4600.00. Business is business, nothing personal. 100K! Pleeze!

Start low and go higher. Not the other way around rickies! Take the extra $2K that the other rickies want you top pay and go buy some accessories.

You want feelings? Buy a dog or a teddy bear!

Please let us know how much you paid.

5000.-6000. I dont care what the miles are if its in good condition its worth that. Selling on ebay could bring more if parting out but the added headache of boxing and shipping makes it a crap load of aggravation.

Kelley Blue Book (Georgia area) has it at about $8200-$8300 depending on the model and if it's in excellent condition (that's retail). Trade-in is about $3k less than that at $5500. Take into account mileage with that, too, and factor in the rebuild...

I always look at KBB and use that as a basis for an argument with the seller.

I bought my 88 Eglide for $5,500 from Ebay with a clean title. Shipped it to me for $500. Did all the plastic/FRP repair myself. I managed to find an outer fairing on ebay and misc parts from a "truckload used parts" sale my local HD dealer had. Got it painted and you see the results below. 42k miles on original motor. I am into it a total of $8k. At that price it was worth it to me.

No more than 5K. Check these guys out. They are local to me and sell a ton of stuff on EBAY. You can really thrust thier evaulations of the bike they have. Shipping is pretty cheap also. www.nationalpowersports.net
