Hey guys, Can anyone tell me if Harley makes a heavy wieght jacket? I saw on their site that they have FXRG lightwieght and midwieght jackets but no heavy wieght. What is the heavyest jacket they make?
I have an FXRG. With the liner and armor it's pretty heavy. Too heavy for me most of the year.
I agree. I have this jacket as well. With the liner and armor that thing is a heavy jacket, weight and construction. Even with out the liner it is tough to wear in the hot summer. Very good quality though
i have a Willie G...love the jacket...weighs a ton...had it 3 yrs, just now startin to break in...sleeves zip out...liner zips out...i have several jackets and its my favorite
Willie G since 1990 and it will last longer than me I'm sure. I wear it year round with exception of July and August (too hot). It costs a lot but it will last a long, long time.
Check out www.foxcreekleather.com all American made instead of the HD made in Taiwan crap and the quality, prices, and customer service put HD to shame.
Harley used to make a heavy weight FXRG jacket, two models in fact. I have the Buffalo hide one. A great jacket. You might find a dealer with one still in stock. I bought mine from the Sturgis dealer in 2005 and he had both styles marked down 50% for the ralley. Good luck.

personally the heaviest jacket than I've ever found was made by the Langlitz leathers in Portland, Oregon. They have several different weights of leathers, I purchased mine some 10 years ago and at the time was listed as a medium weight jacket. I think mine weighs somewhere around 13 to 15 pounds, and because it's properly fitted is not at all uncomfortable to where. Most of the jackets weight in this case sits on your hips and waist mainly because they employ a Sam brown in its construction. I believe the web site is www.langlitz.com you can check it out for yourself to see if you have any interest in their products. It's been many years since I've seen Harley-Davidson offer a decent riding jacket in any of their catalogs. On top of that as mentioned most of their crap is made overseas somewhere by people who really don't like us if the truth be known. I know you'll find the jackets quite expensive, but they're a lifetime investment, if you intend to ride years into the future.above all the other thing that they do very well as any other jacket should, is to help protect you from road rash!
I have one, Had it about a year. It has the same appearance as the lined chaps that H/D makes. It has the embossed name on it not sown on. very heavy with a zip out liner. It has a small collar and is cut like a dress jacket not a classic [biker] jacket.
