You can also use industrial strength velcro (Lowes or Home Depot) and some zip ties to keep things together. They have never failed me.

Can someone post some pics of how this thing installs, or scan and post a copy of the instructions? Does the Iron Cross one allow you to have enough cable to put the Ipod in a saddle bag (HD has an extra cable designed for that purpose).

*Edit: I found the website at onthemovetechnology.com

It has photos, the PDF instructions, and the site states they are working on an installation video...

It hadn't occurred to me previously but you bring up a good point. The unit from Iron Cross does come with a cable long enough to reach the saddlebag. It is included in the purchase price. The HD unit requires the separate purchase of a longer cable if you want to keep your ipod in a saddlebag. Part 72648-11 retails for $97.00. I'm out on the road for a week, or I would post pics of the completed install using Scott's mounting bracket. If anyone still want's to see a pic, let me know and I'll post when I get home end of the week.

HD sells the replacement right side saddlebag lid strap to hold the iPod for ~$45; don't have the p/n handy, but if you're installing the iPod in the saddlebag, the replacement strap is a good installation alternative. It's the same part used on the '11 and '12 CVO SG's.

90200002 Tether, rh-s'bag (if installing in saddlebag). This is the part number for the bag lid replacement strap that Carl mentioned in his post.

Default I-pod Battery Drain

When I plug my ipod into the factory sound system on my 2010 Electra Glide limited, it immediately and completely drains the ipod battery. Any ideas?

How are you plugging it into the factory sound system? Are you using the aux port for output and a different power source? The product discussed here is wired into the bikes power and delivers power to the ipod via and ipod cable. I installed the HDDPlus in my 2010 Limited and love it.
