The novelty of a hot rod Harley has worn off so this is the only one I'll ever do. Stock gets me there just as fast and the money saved can be spent on gas for the next trip.
This.
I could buy a really nice car with all the money I put into my two bikes. Or a Ducati Monster with what I spent on the Night Train's engine & transmission.
Im not going to get too crazy. Im going to run stock, cast flat tops. They are quieter and lighter. I just want some light port work done and a valve job and the heads milled if needed to make each cylinder work equally and give this mild cam what it wants. Probably run stock valves to keep air velocity up and stock springs. Right now Im planning to run the Tman 555 Torqster cams and the Dragos Dragula 2-1 pipe. Anyone see any problems with this? I routinely shift by 3000 rpm or so with the occasional wring-out. Is the type of head work I described going to give a little more kick where I typically ride? Looking to have a stump puller...
