Default 2012 Street Glide pipes

Hi all...I have a 2011 Street Glide, put V&H big shot true duels on it last year, fuel pak, stage 1 kit the whole nine yards couldnt be happier with it..my question is my friend just bought a 2012 SG and wants the same pipes but is being told to just put the pipes on and dont worry about all the other things..meaning the stage 1 and fuel pak...that the bike will run fine without all these..just bolt the pipes on and ur ready to go? Can anyone help me out here..will this harm the bike/engine? void the warrenty? or will it actually work...I have heard of guys just putting pipes on but I didnt want to take the chance on a new bike..I did it all on my baby! and I am advising him to do the same.....thanks in advance!

It depends if he's just doing slip ons then no tuner needed. If full system with air cleaner then yes a tuner is needed

Based on D&D's web page I would say this is not correct. They say that on a 2010 FLHX you can put their complete exhaust sys and stage one air cleaner with out any tune..they go on to say that 2011 and 2012 require a tuner. so I would say 11 and 12 are the same

2010
NO TUNER REQUIRED on stock 96" motors Comes with Exhaust Gaskets

Louvered Concentric Wrapped Baffle only works on stock 96" motors
2011 All motor sizes will need a Tuner Comes with Exhaust Gaskets

Found the info:
NEEDS TUNER
The 2011 - 2012 Touring model are required to use a tuner with our exhaust. 2010 96" Touring models can be used without but the 11's need a fuel management system to operate correctly.
NO TUNER
The team at D&D spent hours on the dyno testing the combination of a high-performance air cleaner with the BOSS Fat Cat pipe to ensure no tuner download is needed.. With just a wrench and a ratchet, every 2010 bagger owner can be up and running within an hour. That saves time and money.
