my mirrors started vibrating after my j&m rokker installation
OK here's the skiv on the div,for all you Boston people:
My rear pipe '05 RKC glowed red until race tune stopped it.
My GF's RK Custom rear pipe glowed red until race tune lessened, but didn't eliminate it.
My buddy's rear pipe on his '06 NightTrain glowed red until repo'ed for non-payment
My other buddy's rear pipe '05 RKC glowed red until repo'ed for non-payment
My '06 35th Anniv. SuperGlide glowed--first one I noticed. Sold it before race tune.
My friend's 35th Anniv. SuperGlide glows.
My '08 FXDC stock glowed until race tune lessened it
My current '07 RKC in stock config. pipe glows slightly, but only when riding, not at idle, and only during the summer months. The race tune stuff I have sitting on my dining room table will take care of that, soon as I get off my *** & bring it in;just haven't done it 'cause December is a bad money month for me.
Actually, every single one of my friends who ride EFI rear pipe glowed red when I became obsessed with this crap & started checking them out,one at a time. Race tune lessens, but doesn't completely eliminate it when checked in a dark garage at night.
Back in the day, my oldeswt buddy used to light his cigarette off the pipes on his BSA 650 Lightning (until it blew up drag racing)
So, I guess like the dealerships would say--"They ALL do that!"
Only pipes that didn't glow? My CARBED Fatboy & my friends CARBED Sporty.
This story is true. Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent!
hard mounts don't shake like these rubber mounts, they vibrate. I've set and watched the counterbalanced models with solid mounts idle and you couldn't tell they where running.
Absolutely no question about it if you are running a motor at 2000-3000 RPM's with no load the pipes are going to get red hot, as EGT skyrocket's when doing this. I do not recommend doing this, it is not only very hard on the exhaust system it is extremely hard on the exhaust valves.
Thanks everyone! Something I learned from you all! Never throttle the bike while idling in the garage ( I am little younger so I like hearing the pipes rumble and **** off my neighbors, the ones who appreciate it come over to listen too.) Went for 120 mile run thru H-Beach and bike rides nice. Once nice and warm this thing real hauls *** even scared the **** out folks on duc's (Ducatis). Did get some recommendations tho, sell the fuelpak and get a power commander. Might just do this! But again thanks!
I don't understand why you'd want run her for 3-5 minutes to warm her up and then holding her at 2000 rpm's for a couple of minutes in a garage or outside in the first place.
Call up Vance and Hines to get the correct or latest map settings and install them yourself, takes only a couple of minutes, (you could do it in the time you that dumb *** warm up routine).

..the visual of you sitting on the bike..revving it up to 2K..just sitting there, reminds me of Tommy Chong in "Up In Smoke" when he was sitting on his bike in the living room, revving the S*it out of it, with a flex-pipe exhaust tube going out the window..all to **** off his **** neighbor!...great scene..
Holy carp BATMAN! I took the advise and changed out the fuelpak to a power commander, got the bike dyno'd at Bennett's Performance here in Signal Hill, ca. Eric is the man, this STG runs even better then when I purchased it. What a freakin difference from the fuelpak to power commander and getting it dyno. Sure learned my lesson here big time and wasted some money on this fuelpak. Now have to figure out who to get rid of this fuelpak only used for 20 miles.
