Replacing the battery on a '08 Street Glide. Dumb question, but will I lose my ECM settings, alarm codes, radio settings, etc., when I disconnect, remove & replace the battery?
if you have security, with a siren, make sure you follow the instructions in your owners manual for changing the battery or your bike is gonna be screaming at you.

I worked quickly while the siren wailed - turned off - wailed - turned off - wailed -well, you get the idea! Make sure to disconnect the negative side first or you'll possibly have lots more important stuff to worry about!
Appreciate the replies & information.
Replacing the original battery with a Deka. About $50 less than HD. Also had a coupon which expired this month. Picked up a $120 battery for $90. HD wanted $175. Understand Deka is the mfg of the HD batteries.
Simply replacing as a precaution. Doing my off - season maintenace on the bike. Although no problems with the original battery, I have had a 5 year old battery fail in the past. (Dont want to experience that again).
I understand the ECM does not need to be disconnected. It just flips over out of the way. Was not certain, however, by disconnecting the battery if I would lose any of my ECM settings.
Thanks.
