I have one on my '08 R/G......use the 'compact' element
and it fits behind your lowers without any interruption in air flow.
When you whack the throttle you can actually hear the air being
sucked in.....

You can use it with lowers, they make a compact element that just clears them. But it will not fit with speakers in the lowers. I got mine this way. My buddy bought speakers for his lowers and it was a no go, so he swapped me even on the spot for my stage 1 football setup. Didn't do a remap just went with it since I already had a stage 1 and it runs fine. I didn't notice any immediate performance increase but I believe you have to get it up to around 4000 rpm before it kicks any extra power. I think I notice it a hair once I hit the rpms but honestly how often do you hold it at that range. I'm a cruiser, I'm usually shifting gears around there, but it does look cool and I get comments all the time. Doesn't get in the way of the knee at all, and I'm 6'. One thing you have to get use to is the "sucking" sound, you can hear it way louder than the football. After a couple weeks I didn't notice the sound at all.
