So as I start my winter projects one of the first was to polish my rotors.
So I pulled off the wheel and noticed there is what looks like a sensor for the ABS on the rotor.
I assume I can't sand down this sensor so...
Any one polished an ABS rotor or removed and reinstalled the sensor?
and thats not the sensor! just the magnets for the sensor, thats on the wire running up to the tank area there are no sensors on the rotor that I know of, not even the pickup teeth for measuring wheel rotation
there's not a magnet for the ABS on disc, what you're looking at allows the disc to float and stay centered in caliper. The stock ones have one per disc, the full floating disc has at least 3 or 4 of those per caliper. The ABS is all in the bearing and the sensor on the axle. Polish away, but don't try to take them apart

Ok, Thanks Thats makes sense since there is one in each rotor and the ABS sensor looks like its only on the left side.
Still it seems to be raised above the rotor surface if I grind it down flush with the rotor it will render it useless I would think.
