Mine vibrate alot more than bad oem thinking of putting old style back in my 2010 street glide????

QUOTE=rbferg;9199480]I went with the Glide-Pro. It takes a few hundred miles to break-in but after that it's been great. A lot less vibration than the Harley OEM mount.[/QUOTE]

The front mount helps stabilize the engine, and the rear swing arm. To that end, a soft mount lets the motor flop around more, but transmits less vibration to the frame and ultimately to you. A harder mount holds the engine in place more securely, but transmits more vibration. You have to pick what you're after.

If you want better handling, the likes of a harder urethane mount will please you. If you want geezer-glide smoothness, a softer mount will please you.

Harley OEM is almost a non-term, as Harley has gone through redesigns of their OEM front mount. As you can see below, 16207-79D looks very different than the 16207-79B, and is apparently of a harder compound as well.

Personally, I wanted the geezer-glide characteristics. That's why I bought the bike in the first place. So I went with the older type, which is now days more commonly referred to as the Buell type, L0501.2.

And for what it's worth, my mount had completely failed, but didn't look anything like the typical pictures of a failed mount. The outer cone wasn't squashed at all. The inner sleeve had torn away and had fretted the rubber until it had about a half in clearance all around, and let the motor just flop away in that big hole.

I found this web page particularly helpful when I replaced my front mount. http://www.moccsplace.com/images/mount/mount.htm

I thought my front mount would be worn out, even though I only have about 18000 miles, since its 7 years old and hdforums pretty much said so. LOL I changed mine a few days ago and it turns out was in fine condition, no different than the new one I put in. Same design also.

I did find my oil cooler mount plate had much of the paint peeling off so I was able to get that all re-painted so it wasn't a total waste of time.

I'm changing mine out today, 45,000 miles, with a buell mount. $35 and made in USA for Buell and HD OEM is $75 and made in china.

Done. Before, at just above Idle, the windshield bag would slap against the windshield and make a terrible racket and has scratched the inside of the LRS windshield. after the install, the windshield bag barely moves. pulled fairing off to check the brackets (once Motor Mount starts to give out, the brackets are next thing to go) and thankfully they are all in good shape.
