Hey what do you guys think would be a fair price to pay to have saddle bags lids, fairing lowers and fairing painted? 5 pieces in all. The saddle bag lids are new, untreated, so I don't know if they need a coat of something to prime them.

The fairing is optional, I just want to get rid of the stripe. Lowers are currently vivid black, they just need a coat of blue to match the rest of the parts.

oh, ps, the avatar is a paint shop. I don't really have shark teeth on the bike.

Dawg, how do you get the PPG # conversion? I would like the 2007 Olive Pearl PPG code.

HD doesn't have a "code" for paint. There are "part numbers" for OEM paint in touch-up, sprayable air-dry, and aerosol cans packages. Custom colors and CVO colors are available only as touch-up products, typically. HD only sells the sprayable paint in quart quantitites which is usually more paint than needed for shooting an inner fairing, an aftermarket fender, etc.

PPG offers equivalent products for HD's OEM colors. Any PPG automotive paint distributor will have a computer data base listing by model year and color name HD's OEM colors, and many auto body shops with a PPG paint mixing facility will have access to that PPG data base. It allows the auto body shops, and the distributor for that matter, to mix and match OEM auto and HD colors to do repair work.

When I did my bike repaint a couple of years ago, I got a chance to play with the database at the shop that shot my bike and it was interesting to see the HD colors and mix formulas for many HD colors.

So what do you figure would be a fair price to pay for a few small pieces like saddlebag lids and fairing lowers?

BTW, Harley won't sell me the touch up paint for my bike. They say it's not available. Oh, and if it were, it's $100 a quart.
