Ditto on the LRS. I went thru 3 windshields before I put the 11" LRS recurve on my bike. It's a keeper. BTW, I'm 6'4" and long in the torso. You could probably get by with a shorter shield.
Good luck, I have tried lots of styles and heights.
It's pretty simple, the bigger the windshield the better they work.
I recomend getting one with the "Flip" on the top. They do work better.
I went to harley to get a taller one and they wanted 125 bucks. I found a lexan one on ebay for 35 bucks. It is smoked in color and 8 inches tall which works fine for me as I am about 6ft. I t fits on my 08 street glide
5'10" sundowner seat, 9 inch LRS classic( Don't know if they make them anymore) (slight recurve) hits me right between the right around the mouth and nose. For you a 10 inch. I think that you want them about that heighth so you can duck in under them when necessary..
I bought the 7" dark grey curve from freedom shield (http://freedomshields.net/Windshield...indshield.html). It's sturdy, not too tall and crystal clear. I'm impressed with the quality - way better than the stock HD one.
This is what I run too. I have another shield which is very popular on here, but the Freedom Shield is superior in fit, finish, and quality. Customer service from Freedomshields was very good too.
Harley now has a 4" Windsplitter which looks awesome as heck on the Street Glide. The 7" Windsplitter would probably do a better job but that short ones is ****.
I had the 7" Windsplitter on my bike, with a Sundowner seat, but it seemed a little too short although it puts most of the air over me, some on the top of my head. Was afraid a rock or bird might whack me in the face though. I have an 8.5" Klock Werks which does a great job but is just a tad too high since I got the dark smoked and can't see through it worth a darn. Had a 7" LRS which was a great height but it cracked. No more Lexan, only Polycarbonates for me from now on.
I have a 7" Fast Aire on the way. I am hoping that one will be the keeper.
I have three windshields for my 2011 SG. I have the original small one it came with. I have an 8" Clearview windshield with recurve that I use all at the time and I have a 9.5" Clearview with recurve that i use for longer road trips. I've used Clearview for years and like them. I do like the new HD Windsplitter and the Clockwerks looks good as well but I've never ridden with one of those so can't comment about their functionality.
