13k miles in 3 months! That bike doesn't sit in the garage much. LOL I put 30k on one in a year and thought that was a lot...you goin' for a record? That sounds like fun!
I have owned mine now for about 3 months or 3800 miles. I have not complaints other than I received a defective seat with the purchase. After 30 minutes your tailbone just can't stand it anymore. A replacement seat identical to it, without the defect works just fine. Of course, Harley Davidson didn't recognize it as a defect. So, I had to eat it.
I am working on a Stage I kit, and adding tons of chrome, but those are personal preferences.
Personally, I feel that you should return the bike and demand a refund. Simply the thought of someone buying an '07 and not bitching about something appalls me.
That's funny[sm=icon_cheers.gif]I love mine NO ISSUES
I can't detect excessive noise from the tranny. Man, there must be something wrong. All seems fine....can this be??
Well, I didn't notice any noises in my SG either for several hundred miles, mainly because I kept RPM's in a moderate range for break-in, and it certainly didn't overheat between Nov. 22, 2006 and the time I installed the PCIII a few weeks later since temps were cool like they are now. The rocks-in-a-can sensation will likely not be noticed unless the oil is hot and you allow it to cruise in 5th or 6th at <2200 rpms. You may have an '07 that doesn't rattle, although I can't quite imagine that such a thing exists even though some owners make this claim. I suspect it is more an issue of hearing loss, earplugs, loud mufflers, loud stereo, or a combo of the above--but I wouldn't bet any money that there are no '07's that don't rattle. I just say give me one and I'll make it rattle.
Anyway, if it does rattle, just slap an IDS on and your troubles will be over. Some sort of EFI control will likely be necessary (PCIII, SERT, TM, etc.), but you may not need to deal with that 'til Spring or Summer when temps start rising.
