Default Batwing?

Help me out here. Which bikes have the "batwing" style fairing? I see the term used and confused at times. I have an Ultra Classic and looking to purchase speaker adapter rings (5.25 to 6.5) and see some rings for "batwing" and others not but they don't mention Electra Glide, Road Glide, etc. Is my fairing considered a "batwing?"

The batwing is the single light fairing of the street glide/electra-glide family, the Fugly is the double headlight fairing of the road glide.

SG/Electra is fork mounted.
RG is frame mounted.

There is your quick tour.

So, the fairing on my Ultra Classic would be considered a "batwing"? But the fairing is mounted to the frame.

You have a "Batwing". Your fairing is mounted to the front forks (front end). Not the frame of the bike like the gas tank is.
Your fairing turns when you turn the front end , right?

If you turn the bars and the fairing moves too, its fork mounted and it's a batwing.

If you turn the bars and that fairing doesn't move, it's frame mounted and it's a sharknose.

Yes/no....... Yes you have a "Batwing but your fairing is mounted to the forks not the frame. Batwings turn with the handlebars and Fuglys to not turn, the point straight ahead!

lol, I thought I made that clear enough.

there are only 2 fairings.

The electra-glide family aka the batwing and they are all fork mounted.
The Road Glide family is the double headlight aka the fugly and it is frame mounted.
