Odd story today...the new SG, about a week old, got a flat front tire today why out riding. Luckily I was right by the dealer and got it aired up. So far its holding fine. The service rep jsut told me to keep an eye on it, but I cant think what would have made it randomly go flat like that all the sudden.
Aren't most flat tires random? Sorry, but couldn't pass. New bike - did you by chance air the tires before the ride - possibly a bit of dirt or debris lodged in the valve.
Hehe, Normally I would blame the woman...but she was on it with me when it happened
Thanks mark. Im thinking maybe the front was already a little low when I took it from the dealer. I pretty much rode it right off the showroom floor and they didnt prep it much. Hopefuly there isnt a issue.
Kinda had the same thing happen.had new tires put on..went on a trip.i didnt check the air pressures figured there new tires..came back had a hum frome the rear.brought it back.service dept said rear tire had 20 psi..aired it back up b een fine
check the valves to make sure that they are seated properly and no junk in there. tires don't just 'randomly' go flat, there is a reason, and you don't want that to happen while you're on the highway doing 75....
I would do the soapy water thing, look close and careful. Tubeless, check around the rim & nipples. Curious - how thorough did the dealer check it, or did they just air it up?
Dang, you beat me to it!! I would say that all flats are random. Who plans for a flat?
+1 on checking for leakage with soapy water. You have a leak, so you need to pin it down. Valve stems, or around the rims, or maybe a projectile or a cut. But you need to see deal with it. Remember, "hope" is not a strategy.
