I'm at 4K miles and planning to change to synthetic in all 3 holes at the 5K service. Also, I'm taking the bagger in for a dyno tune on 12/20. Does the change to synth make enough difference in running temp or anything else that I should do the change before the dyno tune?

it can't hurt to have fresh oil in a bike when it is going to be run at the outer edges of the revs. Just my opinion.

Ron - I had a similar question prior to my dyno tune at Latus. I sent
mike an e-mail to clarify what should be done. Here is his response:

Thank you for considering us. Not much prep required so long as rear tire and clutch are in good shape. We like the bikes as close to how you've been riding prior of the dyno to get a good picture of the true gains from the tune. Do not get me wrong in that the dyno is hard on the tire or clutch, it's just that these are what most commonly cause interuptions in tuning. The oil/filter kinda goes both ways, some guys like to have it fresh for the dyno. I prefer to do the dyno first then change after, so long as levels are checked before dynoing.
Thanks, Mike

Thanks - I read your question on the Latus forum. I was just curious if there was a significant enough difference between the way it would run with synthetic, that it would be worth making the change to synth before the tune so I would get a real accurate map.

RonH...use Amsoil in the crankcase...RotellaT in the primary(promotes good clutch lock up along with lubricity) and Redline Shockproof in the tranny...you'll notice a difference
