I trailered a used harley from Ga to NYC. when I arrived, I found a small collection of tools , nuts, bolts on the floor of the trailer. it's amazing how much stuff the bike can hide in the cracks and crevases.

I suppose a missing socket is better than an extra gasket or bearing on re-assembly? Or maybe not.

Such a relief reading all this. My week spot is the battery terminal bolts. I have handful of them IN the bike frame somewhere. Once I was looking for my glasses (can't live without them). Found them in our freezer because ice-cream was on the table and I thought I already put it to the freezer...

They still let me ride...

One of the first jobs out of high school I had was installing stereos and cb's at the local radio shack. I had a customer come in once to have their tape deck that I had put in replaced a few years later when CD's were catching on. Upon pulling out the old stereo, I found my best crimpers and a screwdriver that I had left in there four years earlier.. lol

Never found anything stuck in the bike but I have found random tools in engine/hydraulic compartments of the helicopter before going flying. That doesn't always leave you with the best feeling.

I spent 15 years as a brake and front end mech and it would always amaze me how you could use a wrench set it down and it would crawl off and hide somewhere just to mess with you, and usually it would crawl into my back pocket. It also amazes me how those little nuts and bolts that you drop working on your bike can fall and never touch the ground so you replace it only to find it on the floor days later. It's the Gremlins.

That would be scary.

I had to replace a fender on a used 1990 Gmc truck I bought.I found a large Snap-On flat blade screwdriver between the inner and outer fender.
