I've been doing a little research on table lifts because I plan on buying one soon. Almost every lift I've looked at is rated at 1000lbs. and I know a lot of guys are using them with Touring Harleys.
With my Limited weighing in at about 900 lbs., I'm wondering if a lift rated for 1000 lbs. is really adequate for the Limited. I know that this kind of equipment is usually rated conservatively but I'd like some info from you guys that might know......before I decide what to buy.
Get a good chock like pingle cycle jaws and always strap her in pulling the bike into the chock. Havent heard of any lift failures but as long as shes straped in a drop short of a 4 foot free fall shouldnt matter.
I rarely leave her up in the air overnight.
We have 6 of the Western Manufacturing lifts with the tire vises.
One is lengthened for choppers, and also have the side extentions that fit 2 others.
NEVER had a problem with any of them, and 2 are way over 20 years old, with 6 day a week use.
