Have a SG and ride solo (wife rides a Fatboy). Have the Stock seat and want to get a new seat. Question is whether to get the Solo or the Fastback. Does the fastback still look like a two up seat or would it look good riding solo. Hope this makes sense.
I am biased but I ride with a solo and have a p-pad for two up rides. Also use detachable tour pack. Do you want the back fender bare? Go to there web site might help. I use the back rest on longer rides. For this old guy it is a great plus. Around town short rides sometimes i leave back rest off. Good to have choices.
This is a no brainer.... SOLO + BACKREST + PILLION. Any look you want can be had in 5 seconds. Pillon and backrest store in saddlebag, and like 2007SG I use the detach tour pak so the look is totally different anytime I choose. Going with a fastback you may as well just keep your stocker.
I like my fast back with back rest. It looks good a feels real good up to about 100 miles then my *** starts aching. It sits low and is firm. I have a HD solo seat that's softer for long rides.

I have the Fastback and ride solo 99% of the time, the riders area on both the Fastback and Solo position the rider the same and basically are the same. I bought the fastback because like the way it blends into the rear better than the solo IMO. I also has a Fastback on my Fatboy for the same reason , I like the way it bends into the rear fender better than the solo seats. As for comfort I can easily go a tank of gas with out a break and 400 + miles in a day without problem for me
