i just ordered the fulsac pipe conversion with the tts mastertuner, i have the k&n high flo air filter and the screaming eagle supertrapp slip on pipes. the website claims to have a major reduction on heat from the pipes, has anybody done this conversion to their 09
The cat needs to be removed from the pipe. I went with the Fulsac 2" pipe and X pipe. Find yourself a reliable independent tuner. I chose Doc Weaver in Minniola FL. It's my 2nd tune in 80 days. My dealership did the 1st tune using a SE Pro tuner and their dyno. Dealership gave me a dyno sheet that was blank except for performance figures. No name, no mods listed on it. It showed 110 HP 120 TQ. I was troubled by the fact my average mpg was 30 mpg with a light throttle hand.
Took the bike up to Doc's last week, placed it on his dyno and the engine showed 97 HP 105 TQ. Dealership wasn't truthful giving me a fraudulent dyno sheet.
Doc added a TT Mastertuner and spent 3.5 hrs remapping and tuning the engine. The engine now shows 110 HP 120 TQ (STF) now the good part, on last fill up I got 41.2 MPG. The best mileage I ever got before was 36 MPG when it was bone stock and running very hot.
The bike now runs like a Swiss watch with no throttle hesitation, which I didn't notice before till it was pointed out.
To those looking to tune their engines, NEVER EVER INSTALL A HD SE PRO TUNER. It's a waste of money! Mine was installed as a package deal for Stage lll mods. If I'd known what I do now, I would have insisted on a TT Master Tune. Better yet I would have Doc do all the mods himself, then tune it.
