New 07 Ultra. Fresh engine build. Also ?'s about IDS on higher HP bikes?
After opening the updated SE compensator (ending in 08A) and comparing it to the stocker, it looks like its going to hold up very well, and is a very stout part.
Ill take some photos tonight of the components and get to posting the fun parts. Hopefully I ll have some heads within the first week of March so I can finish the assemby and reinstall the engine.
I could finish the engine assembly with the engine in the frame, but I think final assembly with carfull torquing would be easier with the engine on a stand. It will also be easier to measure for custom pushrods as well.
Pictures to follow!

I whipped up the engine stand adaptor from some scrap steel we had at work and hat it milled for flatness. I used a piece of a smooth heavy truck mudflap thats 1/4" thick to make a "gasket" between the engine and adaptor so the mating surface of the engine wont be marked in any way.
It is really sturdy, and makes assembly a breeze being able to spin it, etc.
Definately saving the surface of the engine from paint damage from wrestling it around as well.

TTS Mastertune in hand.
Really considering putting the engine in the bike and putting the heads on once they come. It would just be so much easier to fully assemble it on the stand, then install it.
So torn...
Heads will be here friday from Baisley Performance.
What was done at Baisley after Porting and valves:
-Geometry corrections
-Roller Rocker Conversion on stockers
-Assemble with their valve spring kit
-CC and mill to 10.8:1 CR
New rear tire mounted and balanced. 68T IDS installed.
Ordered Sta-Bo 2's and Sta-Bo ED16's today to assist with the "bagger wag"
Also picked up new swing arm isolators from HD.
Im still torn on what oil cooler to use and which oil temp gauge to purchase...Opinions welcomed.
Hoping to have the engine complete and installed this weekend....and possibly hear it run...Im so damn excited!

Im getting stressed out on the amount of time this has taken, and the fact that this is the first Minnesota March I can remember that is 70* and snow free. There are Harleys everywhere and mines in damn pieces askeewed about a few different states!!! UGH!
Hoping to make our spring frosted nuts flood run on April 21st with a test ridden ready to romp rocket couch. I have my fingers crossed!
