Actually, it appears that you bought the 2nd best touring bike - a Black Electra Glide. The best touring bike is a White Electra Glide.

These are pointless threads, but they are funny. RG is the flavor of the week, last week it was SG's who knows next week it will be RK's.
The reason I like Electra's are because I bought it. Just something about it, like they say
"If I really need to explain it then you'll never understand it."

It's only the best if you run synthetic oil.

I'd say the EG is a great touring bike, but the RK is the sexiest touring bike. The RG is probably the best touring bike, 'cept for the whole "having to look at it" part. I'm not sure if fugly is a strong enough word - mufugly maybe?

Well actually, IMHO, the RoadKing is the best & most versatile bike out there. Now, 5 years ago, you couldn't GIVE me a RK. I was a Softail Custom/NightTrain kinda guy. Then, I had the chance to buy one really cheap a few years ago, and I was hooked. what makes it better than any other touring bike? Well, for one, I think the large windsheild offers better wind protection than a fairing, ESPECIALLY the little "afterthought" fairing on the RG. Also, you can remove the windsheild when you wanna look cool. When fairings were not integrated back in the day, you could remove them when you wanna cruise. Now you're stuck with the damn thing.
To me,riding a bagger is like doinkin' a fat chick--lotta fun, but when the ride's over, you still gotta LOOK at it. But if it makes you happy, that's all that counts. My opinion ain't worth crapola.

Sorry to tell ya, but the Goldwing is the best touring bike; many here have said as much. Oh, wait, you mean best touring bike from HD. Yea, the EG is the best, most comfortable, best equipped to put in the miles.
There are lots of Beamer riders that would disagree with you but I'm with you about Goldwings.Originally Posted by AZdryheat
