wow, that sucks. I was able to remove and replace my front fender without taking the wheel or calipers off. just jacked the bike up as high as my yellow HF jack would lift it , used a long screwdriver to unbend the tabs, then after unbolting it rolled it out the back side. just reversed the proceedure to re-install

too freakin funny... i had a crap day and reading this made me lol...a "you tube" moment for sure!!...and i would love to find that 3 stooges poster for my garage!!!
I feel your pain, Brother. I had the terrible experience of self induce damage on my new 08 Road Glide. It only had 200 miles on it when I decided to move it in the garage.I cracked the paint on the fairing by running it into a metal stand pipe when I lowered it onto the side stand. I tried to fix it with touch up paint. However my painting skills are sub par and so was the job. I left it as a reminder of what a Dumb A** thing I had done. Stupid is as stupid does. I wasn't very smart that day. Try and learn from your mistake and life goes on. I figured I could have done worse and crashed the bike that day. So really I got off easy I guess.

I was able to do the above also buuuuuttttt after having done it that way I think it is easier and less likely to cause another "Oh Sh#t" moment by removing the calipers and wheel
I was looking at the fender last night. How could you have gotten the fender out from between the forks when the mounting bosses stick further out than the width of the fork gap? Just asking.....I believe I'm going to take off the wheel!

Ordered a new front Fender this morning $546.00 and 6 weeks or more out! I ordered a new factory finished fender as opposed to fixing the old one because the clear coat on stock Harley sheet metal is powder coat and seems to hold up much better on my rough gravel road. The fairing however, is going to one of the best painters I know for repair and new paint....Pat at Kustom Flames.
