Default Intake

So I have an 04 RKC that I bought used. The previous owner had upgraded to SE pipes. I was wondering if there would be a way for me to know if he also upgraded to an SE intake or other "non-stock" air intake.

The bike has the stock harley road king intake cover but from what I understand you could keep that and still upgrade the intake.

Thanks for your help

Post a picture of side of air cleaner. Stock I dont think you can see any filter.
Upgrade to stage 1 you would see some filter.

Think this is right

You would be able to tell by looking behind the air cleaner cover. If there is black plastic with two openings towards the front of the bike then no...if there is no black plastic cover then yes...hope that makes sense

Ok so I looked behind the stock road king classic cover and didn't see anything. I then reached my hand in and there is nothing there and I can touch the filter itself.

Would this mean beyond a shadow of a doubt it have a stage 1 intake?

If it does, combined with the fact that it has SE slip ons would that also lead one to believe that it should have some kind of tuner?

Yes you have a stage 1 cleaner..depends on if its efi or carbed...if its efi take the seat off and side covers off and find the pcm and see if there is anything piggy backed off of it....if its carbed it may be jetted

It is EFI.

So it SHOULD have something piggy backing the ECM correct?

If I see nothing that would imply the previous owner put it back to stock which would affect performance right?

If it was tuned with a SERT (Screamin Eagle Race Tuner) there won't be anything "piggy backed" to the ECM, it would have been "Flashed" to the ECM by the dealer or an independent shop.

If there is nothing piggy backing the ecm then yes there is no tuner unless it is flashed by Harley(I think thats right). Some say it will affect performance some say it won't....if you do decide to get a tuner look into fuel MOTO they are they s@$*
