Default Made the leap

After 8 years on a Honda Shadow 750 and endless abuse from my dad ('85 FXR?), I bought a 2002 Road King from a buddy my father-in-law works with. Can't wait to put some miles on it.

Any recommendations for new pipes? One of the current ones is peeling.

Thanks for the help.

Welcome aboard. Depends on how much you want to pay but they are some good reasonable slipons and complete system on Fuel Moto's website. The Jackpot tuned slip-ons are great pipes at a reasonable price. You could go with the ever popular Rhinehart slip-ons. Many options to choose from. Good luck. How many miles on the RK?

It's got 13k miles. The V&H and Rineharts seem to be pretty popular. The ones I have on now are V&H.

Take your time with picking a set. Look at the forum reviews, ride with people who pipes you may want, check out YouTube for looks (sounds too). I'm in the process of pulling some rinehart true duals and putting on a V&H Pro Pipe.

Get use to the bike and learn it before you concern yourself with pipes or how it sounds. There is plenty of time for that. I think you will find it a totally different machine in many ways compared to the shadow.

Not to be a wet blanket here, but is that one which needs the cam chain tensioners checked to avoid any expensive unpleasantness long before being concerned about pipes?
