Powder project
One of the biggest, cheapest transformations I've ever done. When I look at the before and after pics of mine I'm still amazed it's the same bike. Best part of all... Less washing and polishing and MORE riding!!! Have fun with your project and post some pics when you're finished.
The total nut was $260 (blasting and coating).
Picked up the parts yesterday after work and was in the garage until 1:30 am. Assembly took longer than deconstruction, what with looking up torque values and torquing everything.
Did run into one problem that has me stumped.
I coated a set of stock latches and plan to add dichroic glass inserts to them (and the dash). One latch went together perfectly. The other won't close - the lock tab hits into the innards of the latch assembly. It's odd because it can only go together one way.
Swapped locks and the "problem" stays with the one lock. Remove it and the bag closes properly. Have to look at it again tonight.
