Bushy,

I am waiting (panting) to see that installed! :-)
How much longer on the torturous wait?

Great info...Thanks!

As i mentioned in my post, $300.00 and he did all the work. The guy removed the front fairing and disconnected everything and just left the connectors and stuff lay where it was, then set the inner faring on a big quilt and swapped out the guages and stuff. Then put it all back together. I really couldn't believe it only took about an hour and a half.

Its not that tough to install. Did mine by myself (had the service manual) in about 2 hours. A few recomendations:

1. Tape the crap out of any area that may rub during installation with BLUE painters tape.

2. Remove and install the gauges on your workbench. IE: take the inner fairing off with the gauges still in it, and install the gauges into the new fairing before mounting it.

3. A second set of hands is very helpful at a few points. Not mandatory, but wish i would have had someone to help me for about 5 mins when I did mine.

Just got done doing mine, I pulled the inner, took it to a local paint shop and had them paint it, at the same time I replaced the small gauge bulbs with red LED bulbs and sent my speedo and tach to Marty at www.gaugeledmods.com.
He put the red LED's in for me and they came out great.

I haven't taken any pics yet but will be doing that soon once all the other mods are complete.

Like everyone said, well worth the money and time. Do it yourself it isn't that hard and you'll get a lot of satisfaction out of it.

I live in N.E. Florida and there is a guy here who will provide you with a painted inner fairing for $300.00, any stock Harley color, and $400.00 for the candy and an pearls. On top of that, he will deliver it to your house for you to look at, and if you don't like it, will drive off. If you do like it, he will then swap it, and do all the work, in maybe an hour and a half at the most. He doesn't need (want) any help, and brings everything he will need with him, and is very careful and meticulous.

On top of that is just a great guy to meet and deal with. If you are close, his name is Paul Barber and he can be reached at 904-626-1788, and can be found on Craig's List.

Good luck on your decision, and I don't think you wll be disappointed it you do it.

David
I have removed my fairing mirrors to the bars from my street glide. Question does Paul Barber have fairings with the mirror mounting holes pluged?

I am going down in March and could hook up with him then.

Thanks
